This is not a first-time success for The Academy students.  Our students have been the honored recipients of multiple awards in previous years, including the Junior Theater Festival’s Broadway Junior Spirit Award.

The Junior Theater Festival is the largest celebration of musical theater for young people.  Youth theatre gather annually for this nationally acclaimed sold-out event.  In the past, our Academy students have been the honored recipients of multiple awards, including the Junior Theater Festival’s Broadway Junior Spirit Award.

“In our new space people will notice larger and more open studios with lots of room for dancing,” says Owner/Artistic Director Heather Taft. “Parents and students can expect a professional experience from the moment they walk in the door, from our new studios to the exceptional quality of instruction.”

The fall classes feature Ballet, Tap Dancing, Broadway Dance Programs and exhilarating Irish Dance. You can hop into Frog Prince, Swing into Seussical, Jr. or march into Kindermusik.

Classes just got underway and it is not too late to get in all the excitement. You can join the academy at its open house on September 2 from 5-8 pm.

Once there you can peak in on a Pippin rehearsal, get a chance to watch the Academy students perform, and meet the exciting staff of teachers.

The Asheville Performing Arts Academy has re-centered its focus on making the dynamic between the student and teacher the significant part of the instruction.

With every one successive invasion and migrations from other persons, religions and cultures stepping foot on Irish ground, numbers of them would be assimilated into the hallmarks of current Irish dancing.
