Lindsey Kelley
From choreographing neighborhood dances in her living room to performing in NYC theaters, Lindsey Kelley has been dancing up a storm since she was a wee little gal! She began extensive ballet and modern dance training with the Northwest Florida Ballet Company, where she performed various lead roles with the company up until high school graduation. Lindsey went on to graduate cum laude from the University of South Florida with a BFA in Dance Performance in 2007. She was awarded several prestigious scholarships for excellence in academics and performance, plus her own choreography was presented at the American College Dance Festival in Oxford, Mississippi. Lindsey’s training also includes the Amsterdam Dance Center, Atlanta Ballet, Dance New Amsterdam, Mark Morris Dance Company, Nutmeg Ballet, Stephen Petronio and the Trisha Brown Dance Company. Miss Kelley moved to New York City upon graduation to pursue a performing dance career. Lindsey has had the splendid opportunity to dance with Monica Bill Barnes, Sean Curran, Rebecca Davis, Yesid Lopez, Laura Peterson, Becky Radway, Oliver and Teri Steele and Saul Ulerio. Her own work has been presented at Food for Thought/Danspace Project, Goucher College, PMT Dance Festival, Rosemary Beach, STEPS on Broadway and the Triskelion Arts Festival in NYC. Lindsey also played the role of a lead dancer in Meredith Wilson’s Music Man, as well as “Iris Kelly” in Fame. As far as teaching goes, Lindsey has spent the past three years keening in on her children teaching skills as a dance instructor at Ballet Academy East in NYC. She has been assistant teaching since her teenage years and went on to instruct for the Northwest Florida Ballet in Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Goucher College in Baltimore, MD and the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. Ballet, drama, improvisation, jazz, modern, pointe and tap are all areas of dance she has teaching experience with. Working with children, especially sharing her love of dance with them, is a true passion for Lindsey. Teaching those youngins’ to dance through fun, informative, non-judgemental and exploratory ways, she tries to open children up to the dance capabilities they contain within in a super fun and nurturing environment.
