On Stage -
Come see our students in action! Check out our show now playing and also what is coming up soon. Our productions are the culmination of the hard work and dedication our students have put into their classes all semester.
Asheville Children’s Theatre -
The Asheville Children’s Theatre experience at the Asheville Performing Arts Academy is designed for two types of students:
1. Those who have never been onstage before, and who are looking to “try out” acting, dancing, and singing onstage!
2. Those who are experienced stage performers, who want to have to chance to be a part of an ALL YOUTH/CHILD cast, and audition for roles that would not normally be accessible to them.
We produce five Asheville Children’s Theatre productions per year. In the Fall, we produce one 4-7 year old show, and one 8 – 18 year old show. In the winter, November-February, we produce one 4-7 year old show, and one 8-18 year old show. In the Spring, March-June, we produce an “All Ages” show, for cast members from 4-18 years old!
The “rehearsals” are actually CLASSES held twice weekly: 1 hour twice a week for the 4-7 year olds, and 1.5 hours twice a week for the 8-18 year olds.
Academy Program -
Conservatory-style training, taught by industry professionals, for students who are committed to in-depth study of acting, dance, and singing. The Academy students range in age from 7-18, and are among the most talented young artists in Asheville. Each week, Academy students take a dance, acting, and voice class, and rehearse as a group for the exclusive Academy productions. Our instructors have a passion for each students particular needs in the area of growth, challenge, and nurturing. Entrance into the Academy is by audition only.
